Introduced by the early-1950s, the L-2B became the flight jacket of U.S. Air Force for use in light temperature (50-86 degrees Fahrenheit) zones.The jacket went through many specification updates including the removal of an oxygen tab, snap tabs and epaulets, along with the USAF logo and it was eventually adopted by the Navy and other branches of the armed forces.
